I've always been a newspaper reader. My mother was a newspaper reporter, feature writer, and editor - and I've always understood the value of print news organizations. For me, the morning paper on the driveway is an integral image of America, and my morning coffee and the newspaper is a ritual. Sadly, far too many people have failed to appreciate the fundamental role that newspapers play in our republic.
